Chile Build Micro Team

This trip welcomes men and women of all ages and will involve relationship building, construction, and outreach activities among the Pewenche people. We will be building a 650 square foot cabin/home that will serve as an income source and ministry retreat for national missionaries working among the Pewenche. Why cabin/homes? First, they will be rented out to generate funds to support the ministry in the Alto Bio Bio region of Chile. Due to the number of Pewenche communities spread out through the mountains of Southern Chile our church planting efforts require us to plant house churches throughout these communities. This requires funding that the house churches rely upon but cannot supply due to their economical reality. Second, the cabins will be used as a retreat center for pastors, missionaries and ministry leaders for rest and retooling. Third, eventually they plan to use a cabin to house interns that will come to minister in the Alto Bio Bio. Interns will then be prepared and equipped for future missionary service among unreached people groups in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. March is a beautiful time of year to visit Ralco! Ralco is a town in the Andes Mountains known for its location along the Bio Bio river. It has a mix of Chileans and Pewenche people. We will have the opportunity to visit these indigenous communities and work with the Pewenche. We will do home visits, distribute food baskets and have the opportunity to build relationships in addition to the main focus of construction. NOTE: Projects are always subject to change. March is a transition month in Chile. You will see the trees turning color as fall will be in full swing. The weather is nice and fairly warm during the day. At night, it will be cool. At the end of the trip we will enjoy two additional days of fun including hikes, white water rafting, hot springs, and more in the unique landscape of southern Chile.

Physically Vigorous
This trip will likely contain mostly unpaved, very uneven/hilly terrain, lots of walking and some heavy lifting. Rarely comfortable climate, sometimes hot or cold, probably no A/C. Most of the following conditions–uncertainty, odd schedules, emotional stress, long or difficult travel days, culture shock, language barrier, jet lag, uncomfortable accommodations, unfamiliar food. Not recommended for those with serious health conditions (including pregnancy).
