India Education & Kids Micro Team

Are you an educator who would like to bless the faculty of an amazing school and create a wonderful learning experience for children in India? Then this trip is for you! India today has nearly 1.4 billion people and only 2% are Christian. Eastside is blessed to partner with the Gabriel family at the Kerala Christ Church Mission. In the midst of the state-mandated Hindu religion, the Gabriels have been allowed to run a Christian school and orphanage with well over 2,000 children. For over 40 years now, they have also been able to plant churches, which now number over 45, in the surrounding communities. This ministry has earned such an outstanding reputation for education and care that they are allowed to share the hope of Christ in this region! Eastside is assembling two micro teams to come alongside this ministry and serve this summer. One team (this one) will be made up of educators and will serve the faculty of the school with Teacher Development Training. After school the team will have the opportunity to provide fun experiences and share God's love with the children that reside in the orphanage. The other team will be a technology team that will install projectors in the classrooms to help expand the learning experience of the students. You'll wrap up your trip by exploring some of the sights in Southern India.

Physically Vigorous
This trip will likely contain mostly unpaved, very uneven/hilly terrain, lots of walking and some heavy lifting. Rarely comfortable climate, sometimes hot or cold, probably no A/C. Most of the following conditions–uncertainty, odd schedules, emotional stress, long or difficult travel days, culture shock, language barrier, jet lag, uncomfortable accommodations, unfamiliar food. Not recommended for those with serious health conditions (including pregnancy).
