Kenya Trip - Micro Water Project Team
February 3-13 2005
We're calling on those who love to serve others and are willing to travel to the desert of Northern Kenya to bring fresh water to our Eastside sponsored school in Kargi. This team will lay over 10 kilometers of pipe through the desert to provide a vital source of clean, life-sustaining water to children and their community to ensure better health and a brighter future. Our Missions of Hope partner has over 650 children who have been without a reliable water supply for far too long, and your help can make a lasting impact. Whether you have experience in construction, plumbing, or just a willing heart and hands, you can be part of this life-changing mission. This mission isn't just about building a waterline—it’s about serving others in Jesus’ name. As we work, we'll also share the love of Christ with the community, demonstrating His compassion through our actions. The ancient Rohinga tribe lives in the village of Kargi in the northern corner of Kenya near Ethiopia. Families of 5 to 10 live in small huts, herding their animals, and have lived off the desert in the same way for hundreds of years. You will fly from Nairobi in a smaller plane to a dirt landing strip where you'll arrive at the Missions of Hope school that Eastside has built over the years where children are receiving an education, 3 meals a day and spiritual direction. Your accommodations will be small rooms with private baths, and you can expect to eat simple meals of rice, vegetables, goat, and chicken. Your trip will end with a two day Safari in the Maisai Mara/ Serengeti plains experencing God's handywork in the likes you have never seen before. This trip was designed for our Park Rapids campus members. All Eastside campuses are open to apply but priority may be given to our Park Rapids members as space is limited. Join us and be a part of something bigger than yourself. Sign up today and help us bring fresh water—and living water—to this school in the desert.
If you choose to sponsor a child in this country you will have the opportunity to meet and spend time with your child--truly a once in a lifetime experience!
