Mathare Home Reno + Child Sponsorship

In the heart of Nairobi’s Mathare Valley—home to over one million people—Eastside has partnered with Missions of Hope International (MOHI) for more than 20 years. Together, we’ve seen lives transformed as more than 30,000 children across Kenya now receive education, daily meals, medical care, and spiritual hope through MOHI. This summer, you can be part of that story! 

How You’ll Serve
• Renovate Homes – Provide dignity to families with new beds, furniture, and kitchen supplies.
• Serve Meals – Share food and hope with children and families in need.
• Support Special Needs – Encourage and cheer on athletes by serving alongside the Special Needs team at the Special Olympics.

Accommodations: After full days of service, you’ll rest in clean, air-conditioned rooms with all the essentials for a comfortable stay.

Safari: As the trip concludes, you’ll have the option to join a two-day safari in the breathtaking Masai Mara—a world-class experience you’ll never forget.

Meet Your Sponsored Child: If you already sponsor a child in Kenya, you’ll have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet them, spend time together, and see firsthand the difference sponsorship makes. If you haven’t yet sponsored a child, it’s not too late—adding this connection makes your trip even more meaningful. Join us in Kenya this summer. This trip is physically moderate, and will likely contain mostly unpaved, uneven/hilly terrain, or lots of walking/stairs and/or medium lifting. Sometimes comfortable climate, maybe no A/C. Probably 3-4 of the following conditions–uncertainty, odd schedules, emotional stress, long or difficult travel days, culture shock, language barrier, jet lag, uncomfortable accommodations, unfamiliar food.
