Turkana Build + Medical (Winter Team)

Join us this summer in Turkana as we partner with Missions of Hope International (MOHI), serving in one of the neediest parts of the world. Turkana is a harsh desert region in Northern Kenya, yet home to some of the oldest tribal communities, who have lived here for thousands of years. On this trip, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to make a tangible difference while sharing God’s love in every interaction.

Begin by traveling with the team to MOHI schools that serve more than 3,000 children. Here, you’ll join medical professionals screening children for health-related issues, while others travel to local villages where families live in fragile homes made of mud and tree branches.

Your hands will help rebuild homes, deliver new beds, and construct safe shelters, offering hope one family at a time. Later, you’ll distribute food baskets, providing nourishment and encouragement while connecting with families through prayer, laughter, and shared stories. Every interaction is a chance to show Christ’s love in action.

Serving in Turkana will change lives—including your own. You’ll experience joy, humility, and connection in ways that go far beyond a single trip. Every home built, every meal shared, and every child encouraged reflects the love of Christ in action.

Accommodations: Though the days are physically demanding, your evenings will be spent in clean, single AC rooms, providing rest and refreshment after long, sun-filled days.

Optional Safari Adventure: Conclude your journey with a two-day safari in the world-renowned Masai Mara/Serengeti plains, witnessing Africa’s wildlife and landscapes in a breathtaking finale to your service.

This trip is physically moderate, and will likely contain mostly unpaved, uneven/hilly terrain, or lots of walking/stairs and/or medium lifting. Sometimes comfortable climate, maybe no A/C. Probably 3-4 of the following conditions–uncertainty, odd schedules, emotional stress, long or difficult travel days, culture shock, language barrier, jet lag, uncomfortable accommodations, unfamiliar food.
