Turkana Build + Outreach

Join us this summer in Turkana as we partner with Missions of Hope International (MOHI), serving in one of the neediest parts of the world. Turkana is a desert region in Northern Kenya, home to some of the oldest tribal communities, who have lived there for thousands of years. On this trip, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to make a tangible difference while sharing God’s love in lasting ways.

How You’ll Serve:
• Build Mud Homes – Work in local villages constructing new homes made of mud and tree branches for the poorest families, giving them safety and dignity.
• Deliver Food Baskets – Bring nourishment and encouragement to families in surrounding communities.
• Invest in the Next Generation – Connect with students through swimming outings, boys’ and girls’ conferences, and other special activities, sharing the hope of Christ.

Serving in Turkana will impact the lives of others—and yours—profoundly. Every home built, every meal shared, and every child encouraged reflects God’s love in action. This trip will give you the chance to experience joy, humility, and meaningful connection in ways that extend far beyond a single week.

Accommodations: This is a physically strenuous trip, but each evening you’ll rest in clean, single AC rooms, providing a comfortable place to recharge after long, sun-filled days.

Optional Safari: At the end of your journey, join an incredible two-day safari in the world-renowned Masai Mara/Serengeti plains, experiencing Africa’s wildlife and landscapes in a breathtaking finale to your service.

This trip is physically moderate, and will likely contain mostly unpaved, uneven/hilly terrain, or lots of walking/stairs and/or medium lifting. Sometimes comfortable climate, maybe no A/C. Probably 3-4 of the following conditions–uncertainty, odd schedules, emotional stress, long or difficult travel days, culture shock, language barrier, jet lag, uncomfortable accommodations, unfamiliar food.
