Turkana, Kenya - Medical Team

In the northern deserts of Kenya live the Turkana - a tribal people that live off their animals and sleep on the sand in huts made of palm branches. They are nomadic people living off their animals, sleeping on the sand in huts made of palm branches, and often walking miles just to get water. For those of you in the medical field, we are forming a team of professionals and students to serve by offering health screenings and medical care for those in need. You will see hundreds of children and adults as they wait in the shade of a nearby acacia tree, sometimes waiting all day to be seen. Please consider using your medical skill set to share the hope of Christ and join us for an incredibly unique experience as you serve the Turkana children and the neighboring Missions of Hope schools and villages. This is a level #4 trip (see below), however, your accommodations are clean, single AC rooms allowing you to escape the heat and rest well at the end of the day. Your African journey will end with an incredible two-day safari in the Masai Mara/Serengeti plains.

This is a Level 4 Trip:

• Physically vigorous
• Mostly unpaved, very uneven/hilly terrain and lots of walking with some heavy lifting
• Rarely comfortable climate - sometimes hot or cold, probably no A/C.
• Most of the following conditions: uncertainty, odd schedules, emotional stress, long or difficult travel days, culture shock, language barrier, jet lag, changing or rough accommodations, or simple meals.
