All in the Family

When folks ask me, "How was your trip to Ecuador?" I have to stop and take a deep breath. How to respond succinctly when my heart is bursting with so many memories of all that I saw and experieneced during those days in Guayaquil? The words "life-impacting" come to mind.

Time and space do not allow me to share so many of the blessings I observed, but I can share one of my favorites. At the Wellness Clinic we hosted for the community at El Recreo, I had the honor of being in the prayer station. At one point, a young mother with a newborn and four little stair-step boys sat down to pray with me. When I asked through my interpreter if she knew about Jesus, she said she did not. It was my joy to tell her about the Savior who came to forgive her sin, and when I asked if she wanted to pray to receive Christ, she said she did. As I led her in the sinner's prayer, I heard all 4 of her little boys praying the prayer along with her. What a humbling thrill it was to be able to lead this entire family to Jesus!
