Serving in Kenya & Witnessing God's Faithfulness!

Going back to Kenya for a third time felt like coming home. Every trip has shaped me in a different way, but this one left me with an even deeper love for the people and a stronger faith in God's plan for my life.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was teaching at Baba Dogo School. I had the opportunity to teach students from kindergarten through fifth grade! As I prepare to become an elementary school teacher, learning alongside these students reminded me why God placed this calling on my heart in the first place. Their excitement to learn, their kindness, and their joy, despite difficult circumstances, challenged and inspired me every single day.

I also loved spending time with my family's sponsored children and helping host the Special Olympics. Some of my favorite memories were the conversations, the laughter, the hugs, and simply being present with the kids. Those moments reminded me that ministry isn't always about doing something extraordinary. It is also about showing up, loving people well, and making sure they know they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

One of the greatest lessons God reminded me of in Kenya is that true joy is found in Him alone. Throughout the week, I was surrounded by people whose joy couldn't be explained by their circumstances. Their joy came from knowing Jesus. It challenged me to examine where I place my own hope and happiness. Watching them worship with such gratitude reminded me that when Christ is enough, joy isn't dependent on comfort, success, or the circumstances we face. It comes from knowing that God is faithful, His love never changes, and His presence is enough. That is a lesson I hope to carry with me long after returning home.

More than anything, this trip drew me closer to God. I saw His faithfulness everywhere I looked, and I left Kenya with a growing sense that He is continuing to call me back. I don't know exactly what that will look like, but I feel a deep desire to spend a longer season serving there one day if that is where He leads. Until then, my prayer is simply to keep saying "yes" to whatever He asks of me. A piece of my heart will always remain in Kenya, and I pray that, if it is His will, He will open the door for me to return and continue serving alongside the people who have forever changed my life.

☆ Pray for the teachers, pastors, and ministry leaders in Kenya as they faithfully serve and disciple the next generation.
☆ Pray that God would continue to guide my steps as I finish preparing to become a teacher and that He would make His plans for serving in Kenya clear in His perfect timing.
